Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Which one is Betamax and Which one is VHS?
Like many people I am holding off buying an HD player and even DVDs until the winner is chosen. Blockbuster chose HD-DVD but today Warner announced it will only support Blu-Ray.
Which will win (VHS) and which will die (Betamax) and how soon?
Its really too soon to tell; in the US I've heard that its about 50-50... but elsewhere its different.
I'm in Australia and here blu-ray purchases outnumber HD-DVD about 9 to 1 or something ridiculous, so it also depends on your locale.
Your best bet is to buy a combo player that supports both formats, I'm relatively sure they exist but I'm not 100% confidant.

I'd maybe wait for a few more different models to be released though... give you a bit of choice.
