Naruto, Shikamaru and Sakura are in the middle of returning a lost ferret to its owner--the easiest mission ever. Or so they think! When a young knight, Temujin, attacks them out of nowhere, they are drawn into a fierce struggle over a treasure harboring legendary power--the Stone of Gelel. Temujin's master wants to use the stone's power to create a utopia, while the last of the clan who once controlled the stone wants to keep it sealed away forever. Naruto and the others, along with help from Gaara and Kankuro, must protect the stone from those who want to misuse its power. When the dream of utopia becomes a nightmare, it'll take a ninja to set things right!

The Legend of the Stone of Gelel (2005) follows the cast of the popular comedy-adventure Naruto on what should be an extremely simple mission: returning a missing ferret to its owner. But no mission is simple when knuckle-headed ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki is involved. Soon, he, Sakura, and Shikamaru (not Sosuke) are battling Temujin, a mysterious young warrior in Western medieval armor. At the behest of his lord Master Haido, Temujin is seeking the legendary Stones of Gelel, which bestow unimaginable power on the possessor--power the ninjas can't allow Haido to have. The second Naruto movie suffers from an underdeveloped story: the viewer never learns the source of the Stones' power, nor the origins of Master Haido and his nefarious crew. Although Naruto wins out through a mixture of determination, integrity, and mule-headed stubbornness, the most exciting jutsu are employed by Gaara of the Sand Village, a former enemy who becomes an ally. Legend of the Stone of Gelel is more satisfying than the incongruous Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow (2004), which moved the characters to modern Hollywood. But neither film captures all the fun of the broadcast series. The disc of extras includes some rather standard making-of mini-documentaries, the storyboards for the film, the Japanese trailers, and a trailer for the third Naruto feature, Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom.(Rated T+ Older Teen; suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, grotesque imagery) --Charles Solomon

I decided to watch what was supposed to be a good Naruto movie and got an FMA interpretation instead...

It had some interesting fight scenes and even a funny opening scene. Only see it if you're a die hard fan. WHAT IT DID WRONG:. Gaara has a whopping 5 minutes of screen time. -The storyline is boring.
-GREAT MUSIC. It was an interesting film though, and had enough action to keep me interested. -By the end, I was really cheering for the villain. What happened. -Poorly concieved new characters.
I am a Naruto fan and I was rather quite excited to watch the movie. This movie had way too much Full Metal Alchemist and 20% of it felt Naruto-esque. The first movie was nothing special, but it was a good transition for the series to have a movie. WHAT IT DID RIGHT:. This offering is well. And you know that's not a good thing. -Good action scenes.
Overall, this was an awful movie, and it sure feels more like a glorified fanfiction but in anime film. -The scene in the beginning with the ferret and the pot was funny. -The dialoge was CORNY. Not slow, just boring.
Our favorites are used here, as with a few new songs. Now here's what I thought:. Sasuke is only in it for (literally) 5 seconds.
-Animation was quite good. in a word, awful. I saw this back in the summer and I still can't stop thinking about how dissapointed I was.
-UNDERUSED CHARACTERS. It was very contrived and seemed to be missing lots, and rather felt derived at times. -When I read the "Naruto" title card, I wasn't expecting an FMA interpretation.

As the same with all the Naruto movies and the series, action packed and has good life lessons as well. Has a basic plot and story line, easy to follow, yet as usual Naruto always has a surprising plan in store for us. Great for older children (due to blood scenes not recommended for really little children) and fun for adults who like this type of thing as well. Great action scenes and graphics.

Problem is, this movie takes place nowhere near that timeline. As such, this feels so rehashed and, while it embodies the 'my determination will see me through any situation', the plot just doesn't pull it off. Of all the characters Gaara seemed to be the only one that had continued to develop in the movie. This movie was very reminiscent of the very first ten to fifteen episodes of the Naruto series. Honestly this feels like the characters are back-sliding in development as compared to the series. I probably could have added a star for the wonderful animation, but with the higher budget movies have you kind of expect it.
