Editorial Reviews:

Namaste, welcome to prenatal Vinyasa Yoga. My name is Jennifer Wolfe and I am a prenatal and vinyasa yoga instructor, a doula, a childbirth educator, a hypnotherapist, and a mother.

I have worked with hundreds of pregnant women before, during and after the birth of their babies and have seen the wonderful benefits that doing yoga while pregnant can have on your body, your birth experience, and your recovery from childbirth.

This DVD was specifically developed for women who have been practicing Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga, or Power Yoga before they were pregnant but can also be used for women who practice other forms of yoga or beginners who wish to build strength and flexibility. If you are a beginner please use the 3rd trimester modifications demonstrated by Binna. This will allow you to gain strength and flexibility safely and once you feel comfortable with the routine you can move to the 1st or 2nd trimester modifications as appropriate.

Although yoga is a safe form of exercise for pregnant women, every woman's body is different and requires attention and awareness during any exercise to ensure the body's well being. Please obtain permission from your doctor, midwife or health provider before doing any prenatal exercise and most important, listen to your body.

This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

User Comments About Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga ~ Jennifer Wolfe

Prenatal yoga challenging enough for practitioners

The instructor is great too. I have several other prenatal yoga DVDs (Shiva Rea) and Kristen Eykiel (Yoga for your pregnancy). While those videos are good for when you want a nice relaxed practice, if you are an experienced yogini they can be too easy. I am so glad I got this DVD. This DVD is great because you get a real workout, it's like a regular vinyasa class modified for pregnancy.

Great workout!

I even continued to use it the weeks following delivery. I highly recommend it for all levels. I used this video throughout my pregnancy. This video is great because it gives modifications depending on your level and stage of pregnancy.

Too difficult and repetitive

It is way too difficult, especially for pregnant women. I am in my first trimester and I couldn't keep up just because I can't breathe as quickly anymore (more oxygen to the baby than the mommy).

Also, she did lunges for the first 40 minutes. The dvd is way to long for the variety of poses.

The dvd is so repetitive it get boring quickly. The camera work is also unprofessional.

The woman in her third trimester actually looks uncomfortable practicing and I know there is no way I could do this video in my third trimester without a lot of practice. I take a vinyasa yoga class 1 day per week and really enjoy it so I thought this dvd would be perfect.

When it finally got interesting again at about an hour I was so out of focus I couldn't get back to my practice.

Thorough and vigorous workout

During my first trimester, this workout was much too vigorous for me, but after the fourth month, I have found it to be much more complete, relaxing and generous to my body than the other two CD's I got: Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rae and Yoga Mama. It has been important to have a variety of easy and more challenging, as well and long and shorter practices to use depending on how I'm feeling. I really do love the poses and pacing of her practice. I usually do this workout once a week and the other two a little more often. One last thing: this workout is about 1 1/2 hour, so if you are pressed for time you might want to try one of the other two I mentioned, especially Yoga Mama. I have been practicing yoga for 4 years now. I am looking forward to ordering Jennifer Wolfe's post natal yoga to get back in shape after my baby is born.

A good, solid workout

I find that many prenatal Yoga tapes are a bit too "mellow" for me and I wanted to push myself a bit, but still have guidance as to how to modify poses. I find this the perfect DVD to follow when I'm looking for more of a challenge. I love having two DVD's to go to and it helps keep me from getting bored with either one. This is a great DVD if you've practiced Yoga before you were pregnant. I also purchased the Prenatal Yoga by Shiva Ray, and that one is more mellow and restorative- perfect for those days when I'm not feeling quite up to a Vinyasa work out.
