And best of all, with DIAT wireless rear speakers (with a wired option if you prefer), the DAV-FX900W relies on infrared audio transmission technology to eliminate the need for wires running from the front of the room to the rear.

The receiver features Digital Cinema Sound Technology, Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding, dts Decoding and Digital Cinema Sound technology for optimum sound quality. For someone who's looking for a nice unit that's easy to use and offers great sound, this is for you. The DAV-FX900W kept true to that. Very nice sound, easy installation and fair amount of customizations. Sony is a brand that demonstrates solid quality all of the time. The unit as some have said does load and change disks slow but overall this would be the only flaw I've seen.

Its easy to set up and the slow change of the DVD doesn't really bother me. This has been a good fit for our home and with the price reduced is a good buy. The sound is fine for recreational and not particularly savvy users like me and you can move around the back wireless speakers so that they can be used in adjacent rooms.

Setup was a bit difficult and I think Sony could have done a better job with instruction manual. This is my first HT system and overall I would give a thumbs up. I purchased Sony DAV-FX900 last month and am very pleased with the performance. I still ended up fitting the speakers with wrong color coded wires (didn't want to open it again to redo it).

The programming was a little more complex. There is a downside to this system in that there are several different ways to wire from the DVD player to the TV and so far I cannot find a solution that allows the TV sound to be ran through the unit. The only thing left to try is the digital optical cable. The system however, performs admirably with the DVD's and that is enough to warrant keeping this system. The installation process was fairly easy. If that does not work, I will be very disappointed.

Worth the price paid for them. This sound system I purchased for my 23 yr old son for Christmas. He thinks they have a wonderful sound.
