Jillian Michaels, the trainer from NBC's The Biggest Loser and self-proclaimed "TV's toughest fitness guru," runs through circuit training like a drill sergeant on caffeine. Her theory is to keep moving in between exercises to burn twice as many calories, so she cycles her team through sumo squats, mountain climbers, jump ropes, shoulder raises and bicycle moves without taking a breath. If she doesn't think one of her comrades is picking up his knees high enough, she makes everyone do 30 more, with a sadistic grin. As a result, you can almost literally watch the muscle burn. Michaels' Shape-Up Front DVD works out the chest, shoulders, triceps and quads. It also requires two props: a bench-style exercise step and light dumbbells. The DVD features include printable diet/exercise logs, nutrition tips and recipes. Despite a lower-level option, it isn't for anyone looking for a low-impact aerobic workout. --Ellen A. Kim

Good, short workout best as an add-in to your other workouts

But, it you can get past that then it's an OK workout to use to give yourself a change of pace. The other reason I gave it 3 stars is that she is a bit annoying in this. I do like to use this in the middle of the week to break up harder workouts that use weights. It seems like they started taping this and just went with the first take.
I'm in pretty decent shape, but I do work up a sweat. I only have an hour in the morning to exercise/stretch/cooldown/shower so I was looking for something short but intense to help me lose these last 10 lbs. I gave this 3 stars because I would prefer it to be 30-35 minutes. You work some on your obliques, your legs a bit, but nothing too intensly. It's not as professional as some other tapes. That includes weights for the workout.
This is more of a cardio workout, as it says in the title. I feel that it doesn't work any particular muscle group intensely, but more of an all-over workout. It's a little too short. It is a quick 20 minute workout that Jillian recommends using in the middle of the week to take a break from weight workouts. old working mother with three kids.
She does a lot of giggling and even takes a break in the middle to put her hair back. I'm a 45 yr. This Cardio Kickbox workout it best used as an addition to your other cardio and weight workouts. I also have her 30 Day Shred workout and use that at least two to three days/week.

But those DVD are jut amazing.I saw a change in my body at the third workout.Jillian really push you hard. If you want to have Jillians body in no time, then buy this DVD. Im a very fit girl and always hated vide workout because I found it not effective and resultless. Your heart rate never stop from the very begining to the last second of the workout.

I am thinking about purchasing them for my mom - Christmas Gift. Excellent. I really enjoy these tapes and it keeps me motivated.

Looks like elementary school gym class

Kick to the front, kick to the back, do some jumping jacks. I'm glad I got it cheap. Reminds of elementary school the way this is done. No combination moves that you see in kickboxing- jab, knee, front kick, etc. Avoid this only if you want something super easy. So boring. If this was an unknown, it would not have made it into the marketplace.

They are either too complicated or too dull. The workouts are short, and results come quickly. I usually get bored or frustrated with videos. These dvd's kicked my butt from day one, and the moves aren't too complicated at all.
