I recently purchased a 42" LCD that I am going to mount above my fireplace. where do i put the dvd and others
Looking for some ideas on what i can do with the dvd player?
Depending on how you house is laid out, you might want to think about putting the DVD and cable box in your closet or another room. I Mounted my flat Screen on the wall and put my components in the closets. You can control the components via you remote control and still have a clean look. I drilled a small hole in my drywall and ran the all the cables (power, coaxial, RCA, component) through the hole into the closet. My TV looks like it is a picture on the wall, their are no wires or cables showing.

Plasma TV Wall Mount Makes Mounting Easy
One of the attractions of owning a lcd plasma television set is the ability to hang it on a wall. A plasma tv wall mount will allow you to build it into the wall due to its slim profile. Like most other digital equipment, a hd plasma tv will need cables. The power cord is will come with each set and all the digital devices such as the dvd , vcr, video games systems, and sound systems will need to be plugged into the tv. Most of these wire can be run through the wall behind the plasma TV wall mount, but they will still show below the television set unless hidden by another piece of furniture or a tall plant.
Several of these devices are available with wireless connections, but replacing everything owned can be expensive and tricky to set up. Recessing your plasma tv wall mount will keep the installation as clean and neat as possible allowing you to hide the associated wiring.
Make Sure The Mounting Support Is Correct For The TV
To make sure your tv mounts correctly it is advisable to buy the tv wall mount recommended by the manufacurer. To get the most from your tv it is always better to purchase the mounting brackets from the tv maker howerver many 3rd party products will work.
Regardless of where the plasma screen is mounted the brackets will have to be secured to wood studs to avoid any chance of coming out. Your plasma tv must be secured tightly onto the wall, if the mounting hardware is not sufficient to hold a firm grip to the stud walls your tv rip lose and fall to the floor.
The viewing angle on plasma tvs can be adjusted for depth allowing the tv to be slightly away from the wall making the viewing angle more suitable.
